Our Client IKEA is now looking for a Customs Support Specialist for IKEA Service Office in Kyiv.

About the job

Your job is to make sure that all relevant entries are timely declared and supported by required documentation both in terms of completeness and correctness and that all imported goods are aligned with local legal regulations and secure compliance. The Customs Support Specialist role contributes significantly to the efficiency of the import and export activities and strive to reach excellence in compliance with rules and relevant local directives and legislation.

About the assignment

In this role, you will be a part of the Customs Support team within the IKEA Service Office in Kyiv and you will:

• Take responsibility for local import and export, including securing efficient and effective internal controls and compliance to internal and external rules and regulations;
• Working with Global supplier and store teams to implement procedures and projects, ensuring that local compliance is maintained;
• Ensure that the local activities are organized in an optimal way for efficiency and internal control;
• Ensure integration in operations locally, including communicating compliance requirements to relevant areas of the business;
• Monitor changes in local rules and legislations and provide the information to the relevant business areas in due time;
• Implement and maintain local customs & trade solutions such as bonded warehouse;
• Handle the interface towards customs brokers/agents, including audits of their operations;
• Ensure timely and correct filing of pre-arrival notifications;
• Ensure efficient, timely and correct of pre-arrival notifications and handling of local customs related documents, including procedures to archive and retrieve records and information;
• Actively identify and manage risks related to customs operations;
• Deal with other daily administrative customs-compliance work;
• Manage and maintain daily interaction and relationships with strategic partners, both external and internal.

Your profile

• 3-5 years' experience in Customs activities;
• Good understanding and knowledge about supply chain operations;
• Detailed understanding of tariff schemes, incoterms, Customs valuations regulations; some geopolitical awareness;
• Detailed understanding of Customs valuation process, invoice processes;
• Able to deliver excellent results under pressure;
• Able to work within a team and independently;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills;
• Strong analytical and negotiation skills;
• Confident in communicating at all levels within organisation and maintaining close working relationships with external partners;
• Ability to communicate confidently and clearly in English, both written and spoken;
• A high level of PC skills;
• Demonstrated knowledge of government regulations in Customs area.
