Responsibilities:

• Foster and drive the implementation of the GDPR essential elements (key privacy principles, data subjects’ rights, data protection by design and by default, security of processing, etc.);
• Provide first point of contact for EU residents and supervisory authorities;
• Ensure queries from data subjects are addressed appropriately and timely;
• Act as internal point of contact regarding potential data breaches, working closely with other company’s departments;
• Informing and providing expert advice to all members of staff regarding their obligation to comply with the provisions of the GDPR and relevant local laws and regulations when processing personal data;
• Creates inventories, holds and maintains registers of processing operations based on information provided to them by the departments within the Company which are responsible for the processing of personal data;
• Maintain records of data processing operations;
• Support identification and assessment of privacy risks;
• Internal audit;
• Support data protection impact assessments;
• Develop and maintain appropriate internal documentation and guidances;
• Liaise with company’s IT department;
• Liaise with other organizations that process data on behalf of the company;
• Provide training on the GDPR compliance for employees;
• Maintain compliance due to laws and regulations change;
• Ensure risk-based approach in day-to-day work.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Law is required, Master’s degree in Law is a plus;
• 3-5 years of experience in data protection, regulatory compliance, information systems and technology, information security; in financial sector;
• Training/practice in the UK/US is advantage;
• Expertise in European data protection laws and practices and an in-depth understanding of the GDPR and best practices are required, knowledge of UK ICO’s guidances is a plus;
• Fluent legal English is a must;
• Clear verbal and written communication skills;
• Trustworthiness in handling confidential information;
• High professional ethics;
• Ability to multi-task;
• Ability to work in a team.
