Вакансія Polish-English Translator

Job Purpose:

We are looking for a Polish-English Translator, who will be responsible for handling translation requests, providing translation to various types of documents that are mainly legal and IT related documentation while using the language pair English – Polish. Additionally, the translator may be involved in localizing software.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Receive translation task, analyze its requirements, and the document type
• Perform document translation while keeping the original look of the document and task deadline
• Perform self-review of the translated document and provide it to the editor when necessary
• Perform peer review of work a fellow translator
• Compile a glossary for various types of translation requests
• Cooperate with departments that request translation to improve processes
• Store translation source and target files in a meticulous and structured way
• Conform to the task requirements, corporate templates (if applicable), corporate translation guidelines, and general translation rules
• Be attentive to the translation source information and provide applicable comments to the requestor
• Refine Translation Guidelines when relevant
• Be aware and stay up-to-date regarding localization trends and CAT tools, including TM tools

Requirements:

Education -

• Bachelor or Master degree in Applied Linguistics, Linguistics, Translation, Interpretation, or similar

Specialized knowledge and skills -

• Fluent in English
• Advanced level in a second language, preferably Polish
• Ability to independently handle translation requests
• Understanding of specifics of various document types (legal, marketing documents, white papers, presentations on technology details, etc.)
• Literacy in MS Office tools and general confidence in using PC and Internet resources
• Ability to master CAT tools and successfully use one of them on a daily basis
• Good communication skills
• Consistency and precise attention to details
• Experience in translation for 1.5+ years
